Focus on Sustainability, Efficiency, and Digital Farm Management in Bangladesh’s Poultry Industry

Special Correspondent: Global poultry technology pioneer Farm Innovation Team (FIT) from Germany hosted an exclusive seminar in Dhaka on Thursday (October 23), unveiling a range of next-generation innovations designed to make poultry farming in Bangladesh more sustainable, efficient and data-driven. The day-long event, held at Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort, was jointly organized by FIT GmbH and Prestige Feed & Ingredient, bringing together leading poultry entrepreneurs, farm owners, consultants, and industry stakeholders from across the country.
The seminar began with a welcome address from Mr. Kazi Aziz Sobhan, CEO of Prestige Feed & Ingredient, who praised FIT’s efforts in bringing advanced technologies to Bangladesh’s poultry sector. He highlighted the growing demand for sustainable production systems and reaffirmed Prestige Feed’s commitment to introducing globally proven innovations that enhance both farm profitability and environmental protection. “Partnerships like this will help shape the future of smart and sustainable poultry farming in Bangladesh,” Mr. Sobhan remarked.

In his presentation, Mr. Jens Rudolph introduced FIT’s Manure Drying System with Solar Panels, a breakthrough innovation that converts wet poultry manure into a dry, high-value organic fertilizer. He explained that this system effectively transforms waste management into an income-generating opportunity, reducing odor, disease risk, and environmental pollution.
Mr. Sergej Babitzki then presented the Broiler Cage System, purpose-built for fast-growing broilers and designed to minimize land use, infrastructure costs, and energy consumption. The system ensures optimal growth performance and animal welfare through precise engineering and ventilation control. “Sustainability and efficiency are not competing goals — they are complementary outcomes of smart farm design,” Babitzki noted.

The third speaker, Mr. Law Yoke-Lin, showcased FIT’s Farm Management and IT Monitoring System, a digital platform that provides real-time control over large-scale production facilities. He demonstrated how this system enables farmers to track key metrics such as feed conversion ratio, temperature, and ventilation from anywhere, using smart devices for efficient decision-making and cost optimization.
Throughout the seminar, FIT’s team engaged in open discussions with Bangladeshi poultry professionals on industry challenges such as waste management, high input costs, and the transition toward renewable energy-based operations. Participants expressed keen interest in adopting FIT’s sustainable and technology-driven solutions in their future projects.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, followed by networking among industry leaders. With initiatives like this, FIT Germany — in collaboration with Prestige Feed & Ingredient — reaffirmed its commitment to helping Bangladesh’s poultry sector achieve greater productivity, profitability, and environmental sustainability, paving the way for the next era of smart farming.
