
Special Correspondent: Leading poultry-sector stakeholders gathered in Dhaka on September 14 (Monday) for an exclusive technical session jointly organized by Phileo by Lesaffre and Planet Pharma, focusing on strategies to sustain poultry productivity and resilience amid growing production pressures and industry challenges.
Titled “Performance Under Pressure: Maximizing Productivity in Turbulent Times,” the technical session was held at the Sky Ballroom on the 16th floor of Hotel Le Méridien Dhaka. The event marked a decade of partnership between Phileo by Lesaffre and Planet Pharma and brought together industry professionals to explore emerging trends and practical approaches in poultry immunity, performance and gut health.

Md. Shahzaman Khan, Director General of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS), attended the program as the chief guest, while Dr. Shakila Faruque, Director General of the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI), was present as the special guest.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Shah Fahad Habib, Director of Planet Group, who welcomed the distinguished guests, speakers and participants and highlighted the importance of technical knowledge and industry collaboration in strengthening the poultry sector.
The session featured a distinguished panel of technical and business leaders from Phileo by Lesaffre. Mr. Stephane Jonuel, APAC & AfMECA Director, Phileo by Lesaffre, and Mr. Saurabh Singh, Head of Business – East Central Asia (ECA), Phileo by Lesaffre, shared their perspectives on the evolving poultry industry and the importance of sustainable performance under challenging market and production conditions.

Technical presentations were also delivered by Dr. Michal Marcin Duda, Europe Poultry Technical Manager, Phileo by Lesaffre, who addressed “Immunity & Performance,” and Dr. Vaibhav Madhukar Khandagale, Business Manager Poultry (ECA), Phileo by Lesaffre, who focused on “Gut Health & Performance.”
The discussions emphasized the increasingly important relationship between gut health, immunity and overall poultry productivity. Speakers explored how better understanding of gut function and immune response can help producers improve flock performance, strengthen resilience and manage production challenges more effectively.
The event also provided an important platform for interaction between international technical experts and Bangladesh’s poultry industry stakeholders, creating opportunities to exchange knowledge and discuss practical solutions relevant to modern poultry production.

The program concluded with closing remarks by Shah Habibul Haque, Managing Director of Planet Group.
Md. Mosleh Uddin, Director of Planet Group, along with other directors and senior officials of the Planet Group, also attended the program.
The event was jointly anchored by Soyyeb Adnan, Deputy Manager, and Mohammad Riaz Ghauri, Assistant Manager, who conducted the session and coordinated the proceedings.
