
Staff Correspondent : The Breeders Association of Bangladesh (BAB), the apex body representing the country’s poultry breeding and hatchery sector, has announced its newly elected Executive Committee for the 2026–2027 term. The committee brings together a group of experienced industry leaders with the aim of strengthening the poultry sector, promoting sustainable growth and safeguarding the interests of breeders nationwide.
According to BAB sources, Mahabubur Rahaman, Managing Director of Peoples Poultry & Hatchery Limited, has been elected President of the association. He will be supported by Ihtesham B. Shahjahan, Managing Director of Quality Breeders Limited, who has assumed the role of Senior Vice-President, and Md. Anwarul Haque, Managing Director of KAS Agro Industries Limited, elected as Vice-President.
Shah Fahad Habib, Director of Planet Agro Limited, has been elected General Secretary, while Md. Masum Miah, Managing Director of Misham Breeder Farms & Hatchery, will serve as Joint Secretary. The position of Treasurer has been entrusted to Quazi Gaffar Ahmed, Director of Bangladesh Agro Farms Limited.
The committee also includes Imran Uddin Sagar as Organizational Secretary, Saheda Pervin Trisha as Cultural Secretary, Sadia Saba as Public Relations and Media Secretary, and Ragebul Islam Rhyem as Office Secretary.
In addition, the association has appointed several prominent industry figures as Executive Members, including Moshiur Rahman (Paragon Poultry Limited), Shamsul Arefin Khaled (Nourish Poultry & Hatchery Limited), Rakibur Rahman (Tutul) (Nahar Agro Complex Limited), Kazi Zahin Shahpar Hasan (Kazi Farms Limited), and Muhammad Nurun Nobi Bhuiyan (Provita Breeders Limited).
BAB leaders expressed optimism that the newly elected committee will play a proactive role in addressing key challenges facing the poultry breeding sector, including biosecurity, production efficiency, policy advocacy and market stability. They also reaffirmed the association’s commitment to working closely with government agencies, researchers and stakeholders to ensure the sustainable development of Bangladesh’s poultry industry.
The Breeders Association of Bangladesh operates from its secretariat at Rupayan Shopping Square in Bashundhara Residential Area, Dhaka, and continues to serve as a key platform for policy dialogue and industry coordination.
