Special Correspondent: A high-profile seminar titled “Feed Cost Modulation and Nutrient Optimization” was held on Saturday (22 November) at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel (Utsab Hall), Dhaka. Jointly organized by Avon Animal Health and Varsha Multitech, the event brought together leading poultry industry stakeholders, nutrition experts, veterinarians and technical professionals to explore sustainable strategies for managing escalating feed production costs—one of the most pressing challenges for the livestock sector today.
The evening began with a warm welcome to participants, followed by an intensive technical session led by internationally renowned consultant Dr. N.C. Manju. Highlighting the global volatility of raw material prices, he emphasized the need for smarter formulation, precision nutrition, and technology-driven feed modulation to maintain profitability without compromising animal performance.
Dr. Somashekar L., Assistant General Manager (Technical), Varsha Multitech, delivered an in-depth presentation on the critical role of liver health in poultry productivity. He explained how modern production stress, mycotoxins, and dietary imbalances can impair liver function, leading to reduced feed efficiency and overall performance. His presentation underscored the importance of proactive liver care in commercial poultry farms.
A key attraction of the seminar was the session conducted by Mr. Saravana Kumar M., Assistant General Manager from Varsha Multitech, who introduced Bio-B, a complete choline chloride replacer designed to overcome the limitations of synthetic choline. He elaborated on its metabolic advantages, stability, and potential to reduce feed formulation costs—drawing significant interest from nutritionists and feed millers in attendance.

Equally engaging was the technical presentation by Dr. Nandeppa B., General Manager (Technical), Varsha Multitech, who discussed the importance of poultry gut health in the context of rising antibiotic restrictions. He highlighted two innovative solutions—V-CID and Humicare—noting their combined benefits for achieving an ideal gut environment, better nutrient absorption, and improved flock resilience.
The program also featured an interactive panel session where participants exchanged views on emerging feed challenges, innovations, and field experiences. A raffle draw added a light, enjoyable touch to the seminar, followed by a networking dinner that deepened professional engagement among industry peers.
The jointly organized initiative by Avon Animal Health and Varsha Multitech was widely appreciated for bringing global expertise, scientific insights, and practical solutions under one roof. Participants praised the organizers for creating a timely knowledge-sharing platform at a moment when the poultry sector faces unprecedented cost pressures.
The event concluded with commitments from both companies to continue supporting the poultry industry with advanced nutritional technologies, quality products and farmer-centric innovation.
