Special Correspondent: The capital’s poultry fraternity experienced one of the most engaging industry gatherings in recent years as Paragon Group and Novogen jointly hosted a high-impact seminar titled “Recent Development of Novogen for Layer Industry” on Saturday (November 22) at Hotel Sheraton, Dhaka. The event drew producers, veterinarians, genetic specialists, hatchery operators, and agribusiness leaders, turning the ballroom into a vibrant knowledge hub filled with ideas, innovation and forward-thinking strategies.
The evening opened with a respectful recitation from the Holy Quran and the national anthem, setting a warm and dignified tone. Md. Rafiqul Haque, CEO of Poultry Consultant & Development Service, welcomed the guests with insightful remarks, praising the long-standing relationship between Paragon and Novogen and highlighting their shared role in strengthening Bangladesh’s layer sector through research-backed collaboration.

A series of powerful presentations then took the audience deep into global and regional industry trends. Mr. Mickael Le HELLOCO, Managing Director of Novogen, captivated attendees with a detailed look at how the global layer industry is shifting toward balanced performance, efficiency, and consumer-driven production. Mr. Stephane LEMOINE, Deputy Director of Novogen, expanded the discussion with an in-depth analysis of the rapidly growing Asian egg market, stressing that collaboration across borders is now more essential than ever.
From field realities to genetic evolution, Abdullah Al Mamun, Asian Region Technical Manager of Novogen, explained how Novogen’s breeding program continues to evolve to match diverse environmental, sanitary, and commercial conditions in Bangladesh. Complementing this, Dr. Chai Yew Fai, Veterinary Service (Asia), Novogen, shared a timely overview of disease challenges and urged producers to stay vigilant through stronger biosecurity and updated veterinary strategies.
A special Paragon Group corporate video showcased the company’s remarkable journey and contributions to Bangladesh’s agribusiness landscape. This was followed by inspiring remarks from Mrs. Yasmin Rahman, Director of Paragon Group, who reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining global standards and long-term partnerships rooted in trust and innovation.

The highlight of the evening came when Moshiur Rahman, Managing Director of Paragon Group, delivered a memorable and sharply focused address. He described the 17-year Paragon–Novogen relationship as a partnership built on shared learning, real field data and a common ambition to deliver the best-performing layer genetics for Bangladesh.
He praised Novogen for developing birds that respond directly to market demand, perform reliably under local sanitary pressures and support hatcheries in producing high numbers of quality chicks – often surpassing global averages.
Mr. M. Rahman shared that Novogen’s ability to achieve earlier egg weight milestones and produce attractive, consumer-preferred shell color has made it a trusted chooice for farmers. Calling Novogen “a balanced, well-adapted breed shaped through teamwork,” he highlighted the strong technical support that the Novogen team continues to provide in management, veterinary care, nutrition, and hatchery operations.
As the event concluded with a cultural performance and networking dinner, attendees left with renewed enthusiasm and clarity about the future direction of the industry. The seminar not only highlighted Novogen’s global expertise and Paragon’s leadership but also underscored how collaboration, research and field experience can drive Bangladesh’s layer sector toward greater productivity and global competitiveness.
