Special Correspondent: Modern exogenous enzyme technology can significantly improve feed efficiency, reduce production costs, and enhance the profitability of Bangladesh’s poultry industry, according to experts speaking at an international technical seminar in Dhaka.
The seminar, titled “Maximizing Profitability in Poultry Production Through Exogenous Enzymes,” was jointly organized by Dovoy Animal Health and AVON Animal Health at the capital city of Dhaka on July 20. The event brought together leading poultry integrators, feed manufacturers, breeding companies, veterinarians, university academics, nutritionists, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders from across Bangladesh’s livestock sector.

The keynote presentation was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Theerawit Poeikhampha of the Department of Animal Science, Kasetsart University, Thailand. A recognized expert in Animal Nutrition, Feed Additives, Enzyme Technology, Amino Acid Nutrition, Precision Feeding, and Sustainable Livestock Systems, he said future poultry profitability will depend increasingly on maximizing nutrient utilization through science-based nutrition rather than relying solely on genetics or farm management.
Drawing on international research, Dr. Poeikhampha explained that the proper use of Exogenous Enzyme Technology can improve Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), enhance nutrient digestibility and gut health, reduce feed wastage, increase egg and meat production, lower production costs, and decrease phosphorus excretion, contributing to more sustainable poultry production.

Duttle Bing, General Manager (ASPAC & EMEA) of Dovoy Animal Health, highlighted the company’s biotechnology-driven animal health solutions and ongoing investment in research and innovation. He said the future of livestock production lies in precision nutrition, sustainable management, and antibiotic-free production systems supported by advanced feed technologies.
During the seminar, Dovoy representatives presented the company’s portfolio of feed additive products, including Dovoy-Zyme Series, Dovomin, Dovomaxx, Dovozyme XYL, and PHY-10. According to the company, these products are designed to improve amino acid utilization, gut health, nutrient digestibility, and feed efficiency while reducing feed costs. Dovomin contains Glycinated Organic Trace Minerals for improved mineral bioavailability, while Dovomaxx is a multi-enzyme feed performance booster developed to maximize productivity.
Company officials said Dovoy operates blending facilities in India and manufacturing operations in China, with its biotechnology-based feed additives marketed across several South Asian countries. In Bangladesh, AVON Animal Health serves as the company’s authorized marketing partner.
In his closing remarks, A.K.M. Sayeed Sarwar, Managing Director of AVON Animal Health, said Bangladesh’s livestock industry requires greater access to internationally proven technologies to improve productivity, profitability, and sustainability. He noted that AVON has been supplying globally recognized animal health products in Bangladesh for more than two decades and remains committed to introducing innovative scientific solutions for local farmers and commercial producers.
The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion on Feed Enzymes, Feed Formulation, Digestibility, Gut Health, Organic Trace Minerals, and Precision Nutrition, allowing participants to exchange technical knowledge with international experts. A raffle draw involving representatives from leading poultry and livestock companies brought the event to a close.
Participants said wider adoption of Enzyme Technology, Precision Nutrition, and science-based Feed Additives could help Bangladesh reduce feed costs, improve production efficiency, and strengthen the global competitiveness of its poultry industry, making the seminar an important step toward promoting sustainable livestock production through innovation and international collaboration.
Moreover, AVON Animal Health is one of Bangladesh’s leading importers, marketers and distributors of animal health products, serving the poultry, dairy, feed mill, and livestock sectors with a workforce of more than 150 professionals.
