Staff Correspondent: A remarkable scientific seminar titled “From Gut to Growth: Strategic Use of Feed Additives for Improved Productivity and Health” was held on Saturday (November 01) at Le Méridien Dhaka, organized by AB Vista- a global leader in feed intelligence and enzyme technology. The event drew prominent poultry professionals, academicians, and nutrition experts from home and abroad, all focused on advancing efficiency and sustainability within the poultry sector.
The evening began with an engaging welcome message from Dr. Sadik, Sales Manager of AB Vista Bangladesh, who expressed gratitude to the participants for their continued partnership and commitment to knowledge sharing. Mr. Alejandro Criado, Commercial Director for North Asia, South Asia and ANZ, then took the floor, emphasizing AB Vista’s dedication to innovation and its mission to help producers achieve better flock health through scientific feed solutions.

Throughout the session, renowned speakers shared the latest insights and research developments shaping modern poultry nutrition. Dr. Tiago Santos, Innovation Director of AB Vista, captivated the audience with his presentation on achieving complete phytate destruction and the importance of balancing digestible calcium and phosphorus systems to enhance bird performance. His data-driven approach underscored the critical relationship between enzyme application and nutrient bioavailability in feed formulation.
Dr. Nesar Ahmad, Technical Manager for South Asia, delivered an informative presentation on NSP enzymes, particularly Xylanase and Mannanase, explaining how they play a key role in improving digestion, reducing waste, and maximizing feed conversion ratios. His analysis reflected AB Vista’s strong regional presence and long-standing engagement with South Asian feed manufacturers.

The focus then turned to gut health — a cornerstone of animal productivity. Dr. Shah Hasan, Commercial Manager (EMEA), offered a thought-provoking session on defining and measuring gut health through modern diagnostic approaches, linking intestinal well-being directly with immunity and performance. Following this, Dr. Usama Aftab, Technical Director (ASPAC), presented an overview of AB Vista’s integrated gut-health solutions, illustrating how science-backed feed additives can create healthier, more resilient flocks while improving profitability for producers.
An interactive question-and-answer segment allowed participants to exchange views and gain deeper understanding of the technical content. The program concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Atmaram Yadav, General Manager of AB Vista South Asia, who lauded the enthusiasm of the Bangladeshi poultry community and reaffirmed AB Vista’s commitment to supporting sustainable growth through innovation, partnership, and education.
As the evening drew to a close, guests enjoyed a networking dinner, engaging in lively discussions on future collaborations and industry prospects. The seminar not only showcased AB Vista’s technical expertise but also reflected the company’s broader vision — driving the transformation of poultry nutrition from gut health to overall growth.
With its blend of scientific depth and practical insight, the event stood out as a milestone gathering for Bangladesh’s rapidly advancing poultry industry, marking another step forward in the region’s pursuit of productivity, sustainability, and innovation.
