Special Correspondent: The Ambassador of Thailand to Bangladesh, H.E. Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, praised the extraordinary growth and potential of Bangladesh’s poultry sector, calling it one of the most vibrant industries contributing to national food security, employment, and economic progress. She was addressing the seminar titled “Better Pharma: Best Performance 2025,” on 25 October, organized by Argil NE Bangladesh in collaboration with Better Pharma, Thailand.
In her keynote address, Ambassador Chirasawadi commended Bangladesh’s poultry industry as a shining example of agricultural transformation. “Bangladesh produces around 1.5 million tons of poultry meat and over 23 billion eggs annually,” she stated. “The industry contributes nearly 1.5 to 1.8 percent of the country’s GDP and provides employment to around 8 million people nationwide. With an annual growth rate of 15 percent, it is one of the most rapidly expanding sectors of the national economy.”

The Ambassador underscored that the country’s fast-growing feed and animal health industries have played a crucial role in ensuring sustainable productivity and disease prevention in poultry farming. “The animal feed and pharmaceutical sectors of Bangladesh are strategically important in the poultry supply chain and vital for its continued success,” she added.
Highlighting the growing collaboration between Thailand and Bangladesh in agribusiness, Ambassador Chirasawadi said, “With its dynamic economy, energetic population, and increasing demand for quality food, Bangladesh offers tremendous potential for foreign investors. I am particularly delighted to see Better Pharma, Thailand, working closely with local partners like Argil NE Bangladesh to bring advanced animal health technologies and nutritional solutions to this market.”
The seminar placed special emphasis on advancements in animal nutrition and the management of coccidiosis, one of the most significant challenges in the poultry sector. The Ambassador noted that such technical exchanges promote sustainable collaboration and deeper trust between Thailand and Bangladesh. “Today’s event is not just a technical seminar—it’s a milestone in strengthening business relations, innovation, and partnership between our two countries,” she remarked.
She reaffirmed the Royal Thai Embassy’s continued commitment to facilitating Thai investment and cooperation in Bangladesh’s livestock and poultry industries. “Bangladesh is a country full of potential and growth. We encourage Thai companies to explore more opportunities here, fostering shared prosperity for both nations,” she said.
The event was also graced by Professor Dr. Chayapumar Telsak, Chief of the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, Thailand, and Mr. A.K.M.
