
International Desk : Eminent poultry scientist Prof. Dr. Emdadul Hoque Chowdhury, Professor of the Department of Poultry Science at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), has been honored with the prestigious ‘Hall of Fame’ Award at the World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA) Global Congress 2025 for his outstanding contributions to veterinary and poultry science.
The global congress, themed “Sustainable Healthy Poultry for a Healthier World,” is being held from October 6–10, 2025, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) in Sarawak, Malaysia. The event has brought together leading scientists, researchers, and industry experts from across the world to exchange knowledge and innovations in poultry health and production.

Prof. Chowdhury received the honor in recognition of his remarkable research, numerous publications, and leadership in advancing poultry health and disease control. With over 175 indexed publications, his extensive work on poultry health, transboundary animal diseases (TADs), and zoonotic disease management has earned him international acclaim and contributed significantly to the development of Bangladesh’s poultry sector.
Expressing his gratitude, Prof. Chowdhury said the award is a reflection of the collective efforts of his colleagues, students, and the country’s poultry professionals. He also reaffirmed his commitment to promoting sustainable and healthy poultry production for a better and healthier world.
The WVPA ‘Hall of Fame’ is one of the highest global recognitions in poultry science, awarded to distinguished scientists who have made exceptional and lasting contributions through research, innovation, and education.
