Joypurhat (Bangladesh) : Bangladesh’s poultry sector marked a significant technological milestone with the inauguration of the country’s first SmartStart™ post-hatch feeding hatcher system, an innovative solution developed by Royal Pas Reform (RP), The Netherlands. The groundbreaking system was officially launched in Joypurhat, setting a new benchmark for modern hatchery management in the country.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior officials of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS), Joypurhat, along with more than 50 local poultry farmers, industry professionals, and representatives from various organizations. Their presence reflected the growing interest in advanced hatchery technologies aimed at improving chick quality and overall poultry productivity in Bangladesh.
The event was jointly coordinated by LightCastle Partners and Royal Pas Reform, with support from Larive International, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and AXON, the local business partner of Royal Pas Reform in Bangladesh. The collaboration highlights a strong public-private partnership focused on bringing global poultry innovations to the local industry.
The SmartStart™ system, inspired by natural biological processes, introduces a practical and efficient post-hatch feeding solution. By using Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES), SmartStart™ retains water within a semi-moist feed, allowing day-old chicks to access essential nutrients and hydration immediately after hatching. This early nutrition supports better gut development, stronger immunity, and improved early growth performance.
Industry experts at the event noted that post-hatch feeding technology like SmartStart™ can play a crucial role in reducing early chick stress and mortality, ultimately enhancing farm-level profitability. For Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding poultry industry, such innovations are expected to contribute to sustainable production and improved food security.
The successful launch of SmartStart™ in Joypurhat signals Bangladesh’s readiness to adopt next-generation poultry hatchery technologies, reinforcing the country’s position as an emerging hub for modern poultry farming in South Asia.
