Special Correspondent: In a landmark initiative for the nation’s poultry sector, Kemin Industries, in strategic partnership with Rafique Medicine, formally introduced three cutting-edge poultry vaccines during the Bangladesh Poultry Health Seminar on 06 December held at Le Meridien Dhaka. The unveiling of MEVAC ND7+IB+H9+EDS, MEFLUVAC H9-16 0.3 and MEFLUVAC H9+ND7 drew notable attention from veterinarians, farm owners, academicians and industry stakeholders, marking a significant advancement in the country’s disease-prevention capabilities.
The seminar opened with a warm networking session, followed by the official welcome delivered by Ms. Hui Sian Yong, Mr. Azmal Hossain, Dr. Virayos Vajirabhoga, Mr. Ashish Deshpande and Dr. Muhammad Murshed. In their remarks, they underscored Kemin’s global commitment to science-backed poultry health solutions and reaffirmed the company’s focus on supporting Bangladesh with modern, region-specific biological innovations. Their message highlighted the urgent need for improved immunization strategies as the poultry industry continues its rapid expansion.

A series of expert-led presentations added scientific depth to the event. Mr. Midhun Raj, in his session titled “Health through Water: Immune Enhancement and Gut Health through Water Applications,” shed light on the crucial role of water-based delivery systems in boosting flock immunity and maintaining gut integrity. He emphasized that precision application through water is becoming increasingly indispensable for high-performance poultry operations.

This was followed by an insightful address from Dr. Jayaraman Krishnarajan, who presented “Prevailing Epidemiological Trends of Viral Diseases in Bangladesh.” His analysis offered a compelling overview of current viral threats, shifting epidemiological patterns and the growing need for vaccines capable of responding to evolving field strains.
The scientific segment culminated with Dr. Abdullah Makahleh’s presentation, “Comprehensive ND, IB & H9 Vaccination Strategy: Safeguarding Respiratory Integrity.” He elaborated on the escalating challenges posed by respiratory pathogens and outlined how targeted immunization programs, supported by updated vaccine technologies, can significantly reduce production losses and strengthen farm profitability.

The evening’s focal point was the ceremonial launch of Kemin’s three new vaccines.
MEVACTM ND7+IB+H9+EDS, a sophisticated multivalent inactivated vaccine, offers broad-spectrum protection against Newcastle Disease, Avian Infectious Bronchitis, Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza H9N2 and Egg Drop Syndrome ’76.
MEFLUVACTM H9-16 0.3 provides focused protection against H9N2 (G1 lineage), while
MEFLUVACTM H9+ND7 delivers trivalent defense against LPAI H9N2 and Newcastle Disease through the GI LaSota and GVI strains.
Experts noted that these products have been formulated specifically to address the ongoing viral pressures observed across Bangladesh’s commercial poultry landscape.
A panel Q&A session allowed attendees to directly engage with the global specialists, fostering discussion on field challenges, vaccine efficacy and future preparedness. The seminar concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Abu Torab and Dr. Sohail Al Mahmud, followed by a dinner reception that facilitated industry networking and collaborative dialogue.
With the introduction of these next-generation vaccines, Kemin Industries and Rafique Medicine have reinforced their commitment to elevating poultry health management in Bangladesh. The event stood as a testament to the industry’s unified effort toward stronger biosafety, enhanced flock performance and long-term disease resilience.
