Enzyme Innovation for Smarter Feeding: VTR Biotech Brings Global Expertise to Dhaka Seminar

Staff Correspondent: Global biosolutions leader VTR Biotech, in collaboration with Everest Agrogenics Ltd, hosted an impactful technical seminar today (19 June) at Le Meridien Dhaka, focusing on the theme “The Application of Feed Enzymes and Tributyrin Solutions in Livestock Production.” The event attracted a wide range of participants including feed industry consultants, livestock and poultry nutrition experts, technical advisors, and top executives from leading feed and farming enterprises in Bangladesh.

The seminar featured a keynote presentation by Dr. Louis Lv, Senior Engineer (Animal Nutrition) at VTR Biotech’s Overseas Business Centre. His technical session provided in-depth insights into three of VTR Biotech’s most innovative solutionsProtease, Phytase, and Tributyrin—which are redefining performance benchmarks in poultry, ruminants, and aquaculture production.

Protease, Dr. Lv explained, is an essential enzyme that enhances the breakdown of complex protein molecules into smaller peptides and amino acids. This improves protein digestibility and absorption, allowing animals to utilize nutrients more efficiently. It also reduces the need for excess dietary protein, leading to more economical and environmentally sustainable feeding practices.

Phytase, another groundbreaking VTR innovation, unlocks phosphorus bound in plant-based ingredients such as grains and oilseeds. By making this vital mineral bioavailable, Phytase reduces dependency on expensive inorganic phosphorus sources. Dr. Lv presented performance data indicating better growth, stronger bone development, and improved feed conversion ratios in poultry fed with VTR’s advanced phytase formulations.

Tributyrin, a derivative of butyric acid, was highlighted as a powerful gut health enhancer. Unlike standard acidifiers, VTR’s Tributyrin delivers targeted release in the intestine, strengthening the intestinal lining, enhancing immune modulation, and improving nutrient uptake. Its role in supporting early growth, digestive health, and resilience to stress and disease is gaining recognition across livestock and aquaculture operations.

The event was hosted by Krishibid Md. Abid Mahmud, Bangladesh Country Sales Manager, VTR Biotech. The program opened with a welcome speech by Mr. Mohammad Shahin Sha, CEO of Everest Agrogenics Ltd, who emphasized the importance of bringing globally proven nutritional technologies to the Bangladeshi feed market.

Mr. Jason Huang, Deputy General Manager of VTR Biotech’s Overseas Business Center, delivered an engaging company overview, showcasing VTR’s global leadership in enzyme research, and its commitment to tailored solutions that align with regional production realities. He reiterated the company’s focus on helping producers achieve greater productivity with lower environmental impact.

Also present were Mr. Toany Tan, Sales Manager (Animal Nutrition), VTR Biotech, and Kbd. Ziaur Rahman Badal, Technical Manager of Everest Agrogenics Ltd. The seminar drew wide praise for its technical clarity, practical relevance, and the opportunity it created for local professionals to directly engage with global experts.

Several prominent consultants, university faculty, nutritionists, and feed industry leaders participated in lively discussions following the presentations, underscoring the growing demand for enzyme-based feed solutions in Bangladesh’s livestock and poultry sectors.

The program concluded with a networking session, where participants explored opportunities for future collaboration, product trials, and knowledge-sharing. The event was widely regarded as a milestone moment for advancing smart, sustainable, and science-driven animal nutrition strategies in the country.
