Staff Correspondent: A technical seminar titled “Application of Bile Acid in Keeping Good Health of Liver and Fat Utilization Towards Better Performance of Animal” was held today (26 June) at the Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort, organized jointly by ACI Animal Health and Lachance Group, a renowned international animal nutrition firm. The event brought together industry leaders, researchers, and technical consultants to shed light on the transformative role of bile acids in improving animal health and feed efficiency.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Md. Amjad Hossain, Head of Business, ACI Animal Health. In his speech, Dr. Hossain emphasized the strategic importance of introducing scientifically backed ingredients like bile acids into the animal feed industry in Bangladesh. He highlighted that the objective of this seminar was not only to discuss scientific advancements but also to open up opportunities for sustainable animal productivity through enhanced liver health and fat metabolism.
Following this, Arman Roy, Sales Manager of Shandong Longchang Animal Health Products Co., Ltd., presented an overview of Lachance Group and their global activities, especially in the Chinese feed industry. He underscored Lachance’s commitment to research-driven innovation and their success in implementing bile acid-based solutions across Asia. He pointed out that the Bangladesh market holds immense potential for applying these technologies to boost livestock performance.
The technical core of the seminar began with a presentation on “Global Trends of Using Bile Acids in Poultry Diets & Runeon Application in Turkey” by Mr. Seyfi A Deputy, Chairman at Tetra Force Nutrition Inc. Mr. Seyfi explained how bile acids have revolutionized poultry nutrition in countries like Turkey, where improved fat digestibility and better liver function have contributed to superior growth rates and feed conversion ratios in broilers. He noted that bile acids function as biological emulsifiers that assist in breaking down fats, thereby allowing animals to extract more energy from their diet and reduce feed waste.
A country-specific perspective was delivered by Kbd. Md. Akteruzzaman, Technical Consultant, who discussed “Application of Bile Acid in Feed Industry in Bangladesh.” He stated that with rising feed costs and increasing pressure on productivity, bile acid supplementation offers a cost-effective and natural solution for improving animal performance. He further noted that the widespread adoption of this technology can significantly reduce fat-related metabolic disorders and enhance immune responses in animals.
In the subsequent session, Ms. Thiti Jeenlym from Lachance Group Technical Sales elaborated on “Bile Acid Market Developing Situation & Runeon Application in Thailand.” She shared insights from Thailand’s feed sector, showcasing how strategic use of bile acids has improved feed efficiency, especially in high-energy diets. She emphasized the growing demand for bile acid-based products like Runeon, which are gaining traction in modern livestock farming due to their ability to promote liver health, reduce oxidative stress, and optimize nutrient absorption.
After the technical presentations, an interactive Question & Answer session took place, where participants engaged with the speakers on practical challenges and implementation strategies. The session offered a valuable platform for feed millers, veterinarians, and farm managers to clarify doubts and explore new avenues of application.
Biswajit Roy Banu, Assistant General Manager of ACI Animal Health, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all collaborators, speakers, and participants. He reaffirmed ACI’s commitment to bringing scientific advancements like bile acids to the doorstep of Bangladesh’s animal health sector.
The event concluded with a networking dinner, offering attendees an opportunity to interact informally and explore potential partnerships.
This seminar marked a significant milestone in the promotion of bile acid application in Bangladesh’s feed and animal health sector. With increasing global attention on sustainable livestock nutrition, such initiatives are expected to play a crucial role in building a healthier and more productive future for the country’s animal agriculture.
