As per the MoU Land O’Lakes International Development will mobilize volunteers to provide specialized technical assistances to increase agro-food processing quality, profitability and to enhance application of food safety practices and systems and Oggro Dairy Limited will adopt the volunteer recommendations. Accordingly, Mr. Md. Maksudur Rahman, Country Director, on behalf of Land O’Lakes International Development and Mr. Farzeen Ferdous Alam, Chairman, on behalf of Oggro Dairy Limited signed the MoU.

Land O’Lakes International Development, being funded by USAID, is implementing Farmer to Farmer Food Safety and Quality (F2F FSQ) program to address the important issues of food safety and quality with highly qualified volunteers. Volunteers assist and train others on good agricultural and manufacturing practices to improve the local food safety protocols and quality assurance systems from “field to fork.” To overcome arising food safety problems, the Bangladesh F2F FSQ country project is leveraging Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)- Global Markets Program as a tool to our implementation. GFSI work with food industry key players to attain continuous improvement in food safety management systems around the globe.

Oggro Dairy Ltd started as a sole trader business in 2014 with 3 cows. The aim of Oggro Dairy is to provide fresh and quality milk to consumers straight from its own farm. In 2018 Oggro Dairy incorporated itself as a limited company. It currently has 46 milking cows and serving over 85 individual households and a number of retail shops with fresh, high quality milk. At present the farm is producing on average 400 liters of milk. Currently the farm is selling raw milk. In 2020 Oggro Dairy Ltd plans to have its own pasteurization plant and 400 cows with an estimated daily output of 4800 liters of milk. It will be the first dairy company that will be supplying pasteurized milk from its own farm ensuring the high quality and freshness that consumers deserve from milk. The company will also diversify to produce a variety of products such as gourmet cheese, flavored yoghurt and flavored milk.
